New to McDowell? We are so excited to have you and we know that finding a church home as a family is so important! We would LOVE for you to check out our Kids Ministry and see if it is a good fit for your kiddos. Text “newfamily” to 94000 to talk to one of our Mountain Kids team members and get to know a little more about the Mountain Kids ministry.
Through lots of care, love and play, each child will be shown God’s love. Our trained adult volunteers are committed to providing a safe and prayerful environment for your littlest ones.
In our Mountain Kids Early Childhood area, we are helping children learn basic truths as we go through important Bible stories. In these classes, children will participate in kid-friendly worship, prayer, basic Bible knowledge and stories, memory verse application, and crafts that deepen what they have learned. We aim to help develop a good understanding of God and faith through three truths:
God made me.
God loves me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Our Mountain Kids meet in an environment that provokes discovery, inviting kids to live out their new understanding of how to grow in relationship with God and others. We have a monthly theme that strives to connect kids to God, their parents and the main teachings of McDowell Mountain Community Church. These monthly themes are based on four basic truths we desire every child to embrace:
God loves you forever.
The Bible is true and relevant.
Jesus wants to be your friend forever.
We are to go and show his love.
Please use our computerized system to check in as well as receive a child name tag and corresponding pickup tag. In addition, please talk with our staff regarding any medical, behavioral or other concerns. The more we know, the better we can serve them!
Have children eat a snack and visit the bathroom right before walking them to their classroom(s). Please leave toys at home or in the car; we have lots of fun stuff to keep them engaged!
The Mountain Kids Team creates their content to go alongside what Mcdowell Mountain Community Church is going through. This is done for the purpose of allowing parents and children to have simple conversations. You can simply ask them about what they learned, but if they don’t have a response you as parents can begin the conversation by embracing the message you heard.
