Robin and I, alongside Joe and Kristi Webb, spent some time in 2015 with church leaders in Switzerland and Italy. It was a bucket-list kind of trip. The most memorable places… Murren (Switzerland), Cinque Terre (Italian Coast) and Rome (Italy).
Easy: Parenthood, Friday Night Lights and the Office.
Robin and I are foodies – and we love discovering local eateries. We also love traveling together. I enjoy some time alone hiking or trail running. And I’m almost always up for a round of golf with friends.
My wife, Robin, is amazing. She beautiful, gifted and full of grace. My boys: Connor (2001) is an incredible young man who has a great, witty sense of humor – and a strong sense of compassion for others. Calvin (2004) loves to be in the middle of the action. He has a tender heart and is a great friend to so many. Charlie (2010) smiles all the time and brings joy to the mix with his presence.
I love the challenge of teaching in a way that helps us better understand God’s grace and love and truth and transformation. I love seeing how scripture isn’t just about something that happened in the past, but is something that continues to happen again and again in our lives. I never tire of seeing God’s Spirit transform our everyday lives.

Anything outdoors. I love hiking, biking (road and mountain), camping, hunting, fishing, golfing…anything outdoors really.
Do you not?
I feel that I’d have to go to New Zealand or Australia. Not to see fairies or things like that…but because I feel like I just need to go see it. Or Alaska. I really want to go experience Alaska.

I’m inspired by people being the Word. To see people be community, be peace, be love, be generous, be Christ in their everyday lives. The living Word in our church, in movies, in books – this is what stirs my heart.
Waking up in a place much cooler than the desert, drinking a good cup of coffee and going for a run through the mountains.
Spending the afternoon reading, playing guitar, eating delicious food, a nerf war with my son and quality time with the fam.
End the day on a date with my incredibly gorgeous wife, eating seafood at a restaurant we’ve never been, and taking a stroll down the San Clemente pier.
Fall – I love wearing jackets and jeans, I love football, I love the changing seasons, I love holidays, I love hiking, and I love reading a book with a good cup of coffee.
This is a difficult one to narrow down, so I’ll give all of them: The Office, Seinfeld, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Parks and Rec. I love to watch these (and often do) over and over and over again.
Currently, I’m changing lots of diapers.
Rootsy alternative folk music. Mumford and Sons, Head and the Heart, Lord Huron, and The Oh Hellos. This makes sense when you learn I’m from Kansas, I play the banjo/guitar/mandolin, and I love waking up to a rainy day (yes, I know I live in Phoenix).
I enjoy hanging out with friends, hiking, being creative, scoring a great find at a garage sale and spending time with my 3 teenagers.
I love all kinds of music, so it’s always changing. I do enjoy Country, so Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Rascal Flatts and Garth Brooks are a safe bet.
I love shows that can make me laugh out loud! Some of my favorites are: Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, The Middle, The Grinder and Friends.
I love to travel and explore new places and try new things. It’s always a bonus if it’s a tropical destination with a great beach!
I love Fall… a crispness in the air, football, camping, colorful leaves, hayrides and bonfires. Now, instead of experiencing most of these things in September and October I just have to wait until December.
I’m from Kansas and went to Wichita State University, so that makes me a Shocker!

My childhood ambition was to become a professional football player and play for the San Diego Chargers.
I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. I would love to see the Great Barrier Reef, experience the diversity of nature throughout the country and visit Hillsong Church.
In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day, had a major impact on me. The book inspired me to take a step of faith that led me into worship ministry. It reminded me that sometimes God works in our lives differently than what we choose, and challenged my fears within my faith.
My favorite season is fall! I love how the colors and temperatures change. I love that football starts and baseball season is in the playoffs! And it’s my birthday.
